All series of homes constructed by Deer Valley Homebuilders are built with 2×6’s. This allows more insulation in the sidewalls and much stronger construction. Although this feature may be more expensive, it is undeniably advantageous and comes standard with all Deer Valley series of homes. 2×6 framing as compared to most traditional 2×4 framing is tremendously stronger with much greater load bearing capacity.
Deer Valley Homebuilders frames and constructs each home with #1 and #2 lumber. We do not use #3 lumber or culls. This largely eliminates any potential warping or bowing.
We do not use 1x4s as structural framing members.
Compare this to single stud design. This measure prevents sagging, contributing to greater structural integrity.
This lessens attic heat by approximately 30 degrees, thereby increasing shingle life and allowing for significant long term energy cost savings. All series of homes constructed by Deer Valley include this significant energy savings feature standard. All Deer Valley manufactured and modular homes are built in a way that reduces energy costs and ensures long term sustainability and efficiency.
Compare this to single rail construction. If 2×10 floor construction is desired, it is available and often opted.
This can be compared to NovaDeck, Cresdeck, or 5/8ths OSB.
Compare to Black Board/Foam Board or a lesser substrate. OSB seams are minimized and covered with full house wrap.
This feature comes standard on al Deer Valley and Sun Valley series of homes.
Deer Valley goes above and beyond in this regard, compared to the standard of partial finished drywall or vinyl on gypsum. The typical thickness of vinyl on gypsum is 3/8″ or less. Thicker sheetrock is less likely to break or crack and has a greater firewall rating.
Quality paint allows for decor changes over a lifetime. The paint we use is zero VOC (volatile organic compound) Promar 200, which provides superior quality, availability, and safety for your family. Exterior paint for Cement Fiberboard is Sherwin Williams Duracraft. For more info on interior paint, click here. For more info on exterior paint, click here.
Compare this to roll goods. Tears and floor discolorations are eliminated. The average cost of installed luxury vinyl tile at your local retail floor store will range between $5 and $7 per square foot. Deer Valley is proud to offer luxury vinyl tile standard in Deer Valley, Woodland, and Sun Valley Series of homes.
Compared to individual doors and drawer stacks. Metal roller guides are standard vs. plastic.
Compare this feature to standard, factory-built cabinets. KITH cabinets have 3/4″ adjustable overhead shelves and a 1/2 shelf in the base cabinet. This allows kitchen storage customization and enables the ability to place large items upright in the front area of the base cabinets. KITH is a professional cabinet maker with state of the art cabinet building facilities and decades of experience. Compare these to non-KCMA certified cabinets built in manufactured housing facilities. Solid wood cabinetry doors and stiles are greatly superior to wrapped MDF (medium density fiberboard) cabinet doors. We offer 5 different cabinet colors in both raised panel and shaker style. Please see your local Deer Valley retail sales center for exact selections available.
Compare this to a variety of window offerings from single pane to various thermal pane offerings. Deer Valley understands the importance of not just having thermal pane windows, but Low E argon gas as well. All our window installations are sealed with silicone caulking and window tape, thereby eliminating undesirable exterior air intrusion. It’s also highly recommended that you compare the Solar Heat Gain and UV ratings listed on the windows. Superior windows have a significant impact with relation to energy efficiency.
Deer Valley uses a 48″ master bath shower and a 60″ hall bathtub/shower combination at a minimum. We have several options including ceramic, travertine, and glass. Our largest and greatly popular walk-in shower is 48×96″.
Deer Valley uses post form thickness on their countertops vs. a vertical grade typically used by other manufacturers. Rolled edge countertops by Formica are the choice countertop for water protection and low maintenance. Travertine and glass backsplashes are optioned in a large percentage of our construction. Are you interested in Quartz? Deer Valley offers various optional luxury quartz countertops for your home.
Deer Valley also offers 8’6″ and 9′ ceilings.
The perimeter heat system in a Deer Valley home is truly an efficient full perimeter system, using manual J calculations for superior air balance and flow. If you choose overhead ducts, we utilize R-8 ducting in conjunction with mixing boxes, most use R-6. It’s important that your ducts are sealed with mastic and taped to eliminate leakage. With our minimum standard R-30 in the roof, a sealed top plate, and radiant heat barrier roof decking, we know you’ll be very pleased with your utility savings. With a fixed mortgage, but ascending utility rates, our homebuyers can buy more home and spend less over time. Utility rates are expected to continue their increased rates. Over the span of a mortgage, the savings can be huge. We enjoy saving our homebuyers $$$.
Our front and rear doors are made of 38×82 steel and equipped with deadbolt locks for enhanced security. The door jambs are also steel, offering a sturdy and low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood jamb doors, which require regular upkeep.
Deer Valley installs a minimum 50-gallon water heater to ensure quick recovery times. Depending on state construction codes, different sizes of water heaters may be required. All of our water heaters come equipped with a catch pan base for added protection.
Many manufacturers have 6″ eaves with a 5″ metal or hardboard fascia. Deer Valley eaves are vented all the way around with raised heel rafters for better up flow air intake, which improves roof cavity ventilation and extends shingle life.
Bedroom lights are all two bulb fixtures completely enclosed with glass. This prevents shadowing/ceiling reflection vs. lesser-used fixtures. Walk-in closets are lighted and switched as well. Deer Valley homes are also wired and braced for ceiling fans in living rooms, family rooms, and all bedrooms as a standard feature.
Heavy duty engineering is often associated with inefficiency, waste, and unnecessary expense, just as a heavy duty truck is expected to have terrible gas mileage. When custom engineering our signature “Heavy Built” manufactured home, the team at Deer Valley committed themselves to not only breaking this trend, but making the Heavy Built brand synonymous with energy efficiency and sustainability.
By making features like Low E Thermal Pane windows, insulated duct work, and radiant heat barrier roof decking standard in all Deer Valley homes, we’re able to not only increase the lifespan of your home and minimize the amount of necessary maintenance, but we can save you hundreds or even thousands on your annual utility bills. Our advanced building processes and highly controlled construction planning allows us to deliver on tighter, stronger built homes and enhanced energy efficiency. This is just one of the reasons why Deer Valley homes are not just the best manufactured homes, but the best home value, period.
